Arvind Krishna is a Senior Executive with IBM Corporation. He has been named the new CEO of IBM and will assume charge on 6th April, 2020. He will become the fourth Indian to head US based technology behemoth after Sundar Pichai (Google), Satya Nadella (Microsoft) and Santanu Narayan (Adobe).



Biography/Wiki
Arvind Krishna is now holds an American passport. He went to the USA after completing B. Tech. and had joined IBM in 1990. He is credited to facilitate the successful acquisition of Red Hat by IBM in 2018 for USD 34 billion.

Career
The only company with which Arvind has been associated is IBM. He has never tried to switch to a different company. Both Google and Microsoft had tried to poach him at different times with better pay checks. However, Arvind had always remained loyal to IBM.

Interesting and Lesser Known Facts:
-         Arvind Krishna is the second senior executive from Tamil Nadu to hold such a coveted position, after Sundar Pichai. Interestingly, Andhra Pradesh has also produced two world class leaders – Satya Nadella and Santanu Narayen. Arvind and Sundar Pichai are IITians, while Satya Nadella (Manipal University) and Santanu Narayen (Osmania University) were not able to crack IIT JEE Entrance Examination.

-         Arvind Krishna spearheaded the acquisition of Red Hat, which is the largest deal done by IBM in its 108 years old history.
