Rajnish Kumar is the
Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of SBI. His stint has been more than
satisfactory where he has spearheaded the largest bank of India amidst a
turbulent global economy.

Rajnish Kumar is
considered a conservative banker. His focus to not allow bad loans and contain
NPA has given rich dividends. SBI has become a bank to be followed in terms of
its sharp and precise decision making under his leadership.
Career
Rajnish Kumar is a story
of hard work and dedication. He had joined the bank as a Probationary Officer
(PO) in 1980 and has become its CMD. In these three decades of career with SBI,
he has never been accused of any wrong doing – covertly or overtly.
His stint as the Chief
of SBI Capitals was immensely successful. In addition to that, he had worked in
UK and Canada for overseas arm of SBI.

and Lesser Known Facts:
- Rajnish Kumar had succeeded Arundhati Bhattacharya as the CMD of SBI. Before Arundhati, another Bengali Pratip Chaudhary was the CMD.
- Rajnish Kumar was recently in news for a wrong reason. In a leaked audio tape which has gone viral over the social media, the Finance Minister Ms. Sitharaman was heard scolding him for being heartless and not taking care of tea workers of Assam.
- Rajnish Kumar had started his career as a PO with SBI branch of Auraiya Tehsil in UP in 1980.
