Biography/Wiki

Renu Nagar can be termed as a prodigy when it comes to music and singing. Many of her family members are well – trained in Classical dance and music. Her father also takes classes for music. She was in huge demand in Rajasthan to perform on stages and concerts. She used to charge hefty fees for the same (Rs. 2 lakhs for one night performance).

Ravi Shankar Nut, a music enthusiast from Bharatpur, used to come her home to learn Tabla in Alwar. Over time, he had developed soft corner for Renu. He was already married and hence the family of Renu opposed the relationship. They also asked Ravi to not come to their home. Keeping restriction aside, Renu and Ravi had eloped in July, 2020. Unfortunately, they couldn’t manage for long and had returned home after around one month. Ravi had gone to his home, while Renu stayed with her parents.

Within two days of returning, Ravi committed suicide by taking poison. Renu was also slipped into critical medical condition when she had learned about the demise of Ravi. She was also admitted to a hospital in Arwal.

Renu's father had filed an FIR against Ravi Shankar. The duo were reportedly traced by Police on 24th August.
She is the winner of Rajasthan Ratna Award.
