Born in Chandigarh in a higher class family, Shruti had always dreamed of becoming an IAS officer. She had cracked the UPSC CSE – 2017 in her third attempt. Her all India rank was 118. Being a General Category candidate, it was not possible for her to get to the first choice of services – IAS. She had to be settled with her second choice – IPS.

Shruti comes from a family of Civil Servants. Her mother is currently the Chief Secretary of Haryana. Two elder sisters of her mother were also CS of Haryana, making it an unique achievement and cool fact for a state known for its screwed sex ratio.
