Soma Mondal is an Indian
businessperson and social activist. She has become the first chairperson (well, Chairwoman) of the Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL). That's a great way to start 2021 by breaking the glass ceiling effect in the Indian business world.

Soma Mondal is
the first woman chairperson in the vibrant history of SAIL. Her appointment was recommended by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB).
It may be noted that
Soma has not worked with SAIL for long. In fact, she was appointed as a
Director with the company only in 2017. Before that, she was working with
NALCO. She had joined NALCO way back in 1984 as a Management Trainee after
completing her engineering.
