S. N. Srivastava is an
IPS officer of AGMUT Cadre. He has recently been appointed as the Commissioner of Delhi Police. The former appointment was done just one and half month before his retirement. He was given the additional charge of Delhi Police Commissioner during the deadly communal riot of 2020. He is widely regarded as
an efficient police officer who can tackle any sort of situation, if given
authority and freedom. His career is replete with heroic and successful operations, including recently held Operation All Out in Kashmir and finishing off Indian Mujahideen in the first decade of this century.

Mr. Srivastava was
appointed as Special Commissioner Law and Order of Delhi Police during Delhi riots. He
had been asked to join with immediate effect to control the deteriorating law
and order situation in North East Delhi. And, needless to say, he had provided instant result.
Career
Before being appointed
as Delhi Police Commissioner, Mr. Srivastava was the DG
(Training) of CRPF. He was entitled to make CRPF personal tackle the Maoism and
Terrorism with special focus on Jammu and Kashmir and Maoists affected
districts.
He has also a fruitful
and highly successful career as ADG Western Zone in Jammu and Kashmir. Operation All Out was his idea which had literally finished all top leadership of Hizbul Mujahideen.
As DCP of Central Delhi, he had started the concept of Aman Committee to ease communal tension. During Delhi riot 2020, Aman Committee was instrumental in containing violence and normalizing situation.

- There is also a blot on the rather distinguished career of S. N. Srivastava. He was the head of the Special Cell of Delhi Police when Liaquat Shah was arrested on the charges of terrorism. Later, in 2013, NIA had accused Special Cell for framing up Liyaqat Shah in a fake case.
- Srivastava was then removed from the Chief of Special Cell after NIA response.
- Sachidananda Srivastava used to be a quality medium pace bowler during his college days. However, he had decided to prepare for Civil Services after completing B. Tech. rather than trying to make a career in the world of Cricket.
