Major Anuj Sood was born and brought up in a family of Indian Army personnel. His father is a retired Indian Army officer. Many of his relatives are with forces.

Anuj had that intense desire to join the Indian Army since his school days. He had cracked NDA competitive examination after 12th in his very first attempt. He was from 120th Course of NDA.

Anuj must have made his father proud by his supreme sacrifice.
