Pallavi Jain Govil is a 1994 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh Cadre. She is known as an upright, honest and ethical officer. Unfortunately, she was mired in a sadistic controversy during COVID-19 outbreak. She was tested positive, and it was assumed that it was she who had led to series of positive cases in the Health Department. Further, people blamed her for concealing the travel history of her son. She was then the Health Secretary to the Government of MP.

However, as things stand, her son had returned from the USA, which was not clubbed into the list of countries from where returnees need to be quarantined. It means he didn't do anything wrong.

In a career spanning more than two decades, Dr. Pallavi Jain has become a beacon of hope for young girls of Madhya Pradesh. She has worked immensely for women’s empowerment. She is also considered an officer who has remained staunchly apolitical. Kamal Nath didn’t take any action against her, knowing that she is one who will always give sound and pragmatic advice.

Mrs. Pallavi has now been removed from the post of Principal Secretary to the Government of MP. That might have done to not allow emotions of people flaring up against her.

Pallavi was accused of being a part of nefarious teacher's recruitment scam of Chhatisgarh. The scam had happened before the bifurcation the state.
