Biography/Wiki
Chitra has fairly a long
career in the field of journalism. In fact, she has slowly stepped up the
ladder of success with sheer determination and following right direction. She
is one of the most known faces in the field of Hindi TV journalism these days,
but it is shocking to know that she doesn’t have any formal education in
journalism or mass communication.
Chitra had started her
career with Doordarshan, Gorakhpur. It was a sort of internship program meant
for very short duration. However, this phase made her mind to become a
journalist. She had then shifted to Delhi for better opportunity. After working
with Sahara India and INDIA NEWS, she had joined ETV Network and then NEWS 24. However,
it was ABP News which made her what she is today. The channel had given her
ample opportunity to show her potential to the audience. Needless to say, she had
justified the trust shown on her.
Controversial Reporting in Hathras Gangrape Case
Chitra Tripathi will also be remembered for doing pathetic form of journalism from Hathras. She was among five high profile journalists of Aaj Tak who had visited Hathras. However, her behavior was unbecoming of a journalist. She had made verbal abuse to an IAS officer. She had avoided wearing masks while taking interviews. She was later found Covid - 19, and might have infected many other.
