Chitra has fairly a long career in the field of journalism. In fact, she has slowly stepped up the ladder of success with sheer determination and following right direction. She is one of the most known faces in the field of Hindi TV journalism these days, but it is shocking to know that she doesn’t have any formal education in journalism or mass communication. 

Chitra had started her career with Doordarshan, Gorakhpur. It was a sort of internship program meant for very short duration. However, this phase made her mind to become a journalist. She had then shifted to Delhi for better opportunity. After working with Sahara India and INDIA NEWS, she had joined ETV Network and then NEWS 24. However, it was ABP News which made her what she is today. The channel had given her ample opportunity to show her potential to the audience. Needless to say, she had justified the trust shown on her. 
 

Controversial Reporting in Hathras Gangrape Case

Chitra Tripathi will also be remembered for doing pathetic form of journalism from Hathras. She was among five high profile journalists of Aaj Tak who had visited Hathras. However, her behavior was unbecoming of a journalist. She had made verbal abuse to an IAS officer. She had avoided wearing masks while taking interviews. She was later found Covid - 19, and might have infected many other.

  • Chitra had married Atul Aggarwal in 2008. The couple had one son. Unfortunately, the duo couldn't stay together for long peacefully. They had gotten separated for a short duration. Chitra had even filed a complaint against Atul. The family of the couple somehow made them to keep off differences for the sake their son - AUM. Atul is also a journalist. He had recently launched Khabar India, an online news portal in Hindi.
  • Chitra is the recepient of the prestigious Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award in 2018. 
  • Chitra was recently mocked on social media for framing a WhatsApp message on her phone and claiming that the message was sent by a student from Rewa. When ridiculed, she had posted the screenshot of her video chat with that student. In any case, there was absolutely no doubt that the message was framed by her. Netizens also noted her photo in the screenshot. The photo is quite shocking. She looks completely different without make up. Needless to say, she doesn't look attractive or charming.
