Saumya Pandey is a 2017 batch IAS officer of UP Cadre. She had bagged All India Rank FOUR in the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2016. She is currently working as SDM in Ghaziabad.
Biography/Wiki
Born and brought up in a highly educated family in Prayagraj, Saumya had cracked UPSC CSE in her very first attempt. She didn’t go to Delhi for preparation, but stayed in her home town during the entire course of the preparation. She had done coaching from the prestigious Vaid’s IAS, Allahabad.
That was not the only achievement of Saumya. She was also among topper of AIEEE examination in 2011. She couldn’t crack IIT JEE, but her rank in the AIEEE (equivalent to JEE Mains in the contemporary times). She had done B. Tech. (Electrical Engineering) from MNNIT, Prayagraj. She had gotten her home cadre – UP in the allocation of cadre.

Siblings: Saumya is the only child of her parents.
Interesting and Lesser Known Facts:
- Saumya Pandey was recently in news for her dedication to the service. She had returned to the duty just after 14 days of giving birth. She could have enjoyed maternity leave, but decided to be there when the administration was fighting Covid – 19 pandemic.
