Shanti Roy did schooling from her village school in Siwan. After completing schooling, she took admission in PMCH for MBBS and later went to UK for higher education. After returning from UK, she had joined PMCH. For a short duration, she had practiced in Siwan before shifting to Patna.

Interesting and Lesser Known Facts
-         Dr. Shanti Roy was conferred with Padma Shree Award by the Government of India for 2020. This was quite a long overdue. She received the Award by the President on 9th November, 2021. On a side note, it has also raised some questions. Shanti Roy is now charging Rs. 2000 as consultation fee. Rs. 1000 will be returned to you, if you buy medicine from her own shop. That is an unethical business practice for a doctor of such a high reputation (some say that she is just trying to let patient gets original medicine).

-         Dr. Shanti Roy had lost her grandson in a fatal accident in Goa in 2017.
-         The consultation fee of Dr. Shanti Roy is Rs. 1,000. However, you will have to deposit Rs. 2,000 at the counter. Rs. 1,000 will be forfeited if you don’t buy medicines from the shop owned by her. There is obviously no doubt that a doctor of her stature should not be involved in such a low grade business tricks.
