Gagandeep has enjoyed quite a long stint with CBI. She is credited with solving many high profile criminal and civil cases. Born and brought up in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, Gagandeep had that dream of becoming an IPS officer since her school days.

Gagandeep could have gotten IAS as she had rank quite good in the UPSC Civil Services Examination. However, she had given IPS as her first choice of services, and hence gotten the one. Unfortunately, she couldn’t get her home cadre – Bihar and was settled with Gujarat.

Gagandeep as the DIG will supervise the investigation of the mysterious suicide/murder of Sushant Singh Rajput. The case will be investigated by the SP Nupur Sharma and will be supervised by her and Manoj Shashidhar. These three are known for their work ethics and hence people are expecting to see SSR getting justice.
She had previously investigated Srijan Scam of Bihar, Upendra Rai case and illegal mining case of UP involving Akhilesh Yadav, the former CM.
