Anjali Om Birla is the daughter of the Lok Sabha Speaker and Kota BJP MP Om Birla. She has recently been in news for making it to the final list of UPSC Civil Services Examination. She was declared successful in the reserved list declared by the UPSC in January, 2021.

Anjali has always been a studious student. She has excelled at all levels. A cursory look on her educational qualification makes an interesting look. However, her name in the reserve list has created a sort of controversy. Some fake social media posts were created where it was alleged that she has become a Civil Servant through the back door entry. As a matter of fact, UPSC releases reserve category list when various department asks it to do so on the basis of vacancies in some services. The lack of knowledge about reserve list has given fodder to rumor mongers.

It is not yet clear what service she will get. In any case, she won’t get IAS and calling her an IAS officer will be wrong.
