Sharjeel Imam, JNU: Profile, Wiki, Age, Education and Family



Sharjeel Imam is an Indian Islamic fundamentalist. He was a JNU scholar (Ph. D. from Center for Historical Studies) when he had made seditious statement at Aligarh Muslim University. He had urged Muslims to cut the chicken’s neck and make Assam free of India. Later, it was revealed that he was instigating Indian muslims to wage a war against the Indian state. He was arrested and currently lodged in jail. Recently, a Delhi Court asked police to frame sedition charges against him.

Sharjeel Imam is known for his Islamist link. It is quite easy in India for Islamist to wear the burqa of communism. He did the same thing. This closet Islamist loves to be termed as a comrade. He is a highly educated person endowed with wonderful oratorical skills. He also belongs to a family who are known for their nationalist touch.

Career
Sharjeel was born at Kako, Jehanabad, Bihar in a rich Muslim family with strong political link. The family was soon shifted to Patna from where Sharjeel has done his initial schooling. He has done combined B. Tech. and M. Tech. course from IIT – Mumbai. After working in some software company and IIT as Teaching assistant, he joined JNU where he was doing Ph.D.

His family had opposed this decision of quitting job and going for Ph. D. from JNU. Given his educational background, he could have preferred any university from the USA. However, his inclination towards communism compelled him to go for JNU.

Interesting and Lesser Known Facts
  • -       Many cases have been filed against Sharjeel Imam for his seditious comments. There is no doubt that in coming days, he will become a leader of decisive forces of India, like that of Kanhaiya Kumar. He has now been arrested and has been sent on remand.
  • - Sharjeel belongs to a family who are known for their secular credentials. They are landlord, with a difference. They have always ensured to help Hindus of the area. In fact, even the arrest of Sharjeel on serious charges, you will hardly find any Hindus of the area sharing any ill words for the Imam family. Two years back, the family had also donated plot for construction of temple. The market price of the donated land is more than Rs. 1 Crore. There is absolutely no doubt that deeds of Sharjeel has embarrassed them. 
  • -       Sharjeel is one of the main organizers of Shaheen Bagh protest. He is alleged to be the member of the core committee. However, the official twitter handle of Shaheen Bagh protest has denied Sharjeel as part of their team.
