Vidhya Rani is the
daughter of Verappan, the dreaded gangster who was gunned down in 2004. She is
recently in news for joining the BJP. It may be interesting to note here at the outset that her mother had joined CPI after Veerappan was killed by STF led by magnetic IPS Vijay Kumar.
Few months after joining the BJP, she has been made the Vice President of the Tamil Nadu Youth Wing of the party.

Vidya Rani is said to be
a girl of her own making. She has done everything to remove the blot of being
the daughter of the slain forest brigand Veerappan. Unfortunately, the tag has
not been removed even after 16 years of the demise of her father.
Career
Vidhya has always shown a
desire to join the politics. She has wide support among her community Venniyar.
Interestingly, the PMK, a political party having support among Venniyar, had
also tried to induct her. However, she has chosen to go ahead with the saffron.

- Vidya Rani was running a free tuition center to support children of deprived section of society in Krishnagiri. In fact, she is quite popular in Krishnagiri.
- Vidya Rani had a meeting with Pon Radhakrishnan, senior BJP leader, two years back and since then she was contemplating to join the party.
- Vidhya had divorced her husband Deepak. However, the couple had got reunited.
- It may be noted here that Vidya was born in a jail. She had become orphan when she was only 13 years old. She grew up in a Missionary, but had defied their pressure to convert to Christianity. She was literally abused - physically and psychologically - for crimes of her father. BUT, she was never involved in any sort of crime. Before taking dig of her, please keep these facts in mind.
- Vidhya wanted to crack UPSC CSE and that's why she didn't take admission for MBBS even after cracking pre medical test. Unfortunately, she couldn't crack UPSC.
